Paris in 2024, INDIVIDUAL OLYMPIC
GOLD WINNS B-GIRL AMI
10/8/2024,
EVERYTHING, BUT A FEW ARE…
at around five hours, my life changed at La Concorde.
The Japanese B-Girl became the first-ever female Olympic-breaking champion when she defeated Nicka, the current world champion, in the Paris 2024 final.
When Ami returns to Japan in a few days, everything will hit her hard and fast. the main emphasis. The money. the media’s torrent of requests. She will be Ami, the gold medallist from the Olympics. Not B-Girl Ami alone longer.
Ami, however, would much rather see nothing change, save from breaking through and being more well-known both domestically and globally.
Ami declared, “I don’t want my life to change,” after defeating Nicka 3-0 to take the lead. “Indeed, I don’t want to change much, but I mean it.
“Although I’m glad breaking will now receive greater attention, this sport is about more than just the champions. As it happens, I came out on top today when everyone demonstrated their true abilities. Things may have gone completely different on another day or at a different moment.
“If people learn about the beauty of breaking, instead of just the gold medal, I couldn’t be happier.”
