coinciding with the launch of the Reno 12 series in India. The top model in the series, the Reno 12 Pro, is distinguished from the other two models with the same design by a dual-tone design on the back cover and a more powerful camera system.

Based on its paper specs, the midrange smartphone with MediaTek Dimensity 7300 seems more expensive. Reno 12 Pro is not as easy to use as it looks, though.

First up is the AI toolbox located on the Smart Sidebar, which provides pertinent AI-powered tools based on its intelligent recognition of the material displayed on the screen. Nevertheless, only browser apps have this feature.

Furthermore, when you enter a text form, like an email, the AI toolbox’s AI Writer feature appears on the sidebar to assist with writing. A floating window containing points, keywords, or phrases to produce text around the screen appears when you tap on the feature.

The function scans the screen. Additionally, you have a selection of tone options for the generated content, including “polite,” “detailed,” and “concise.” I used Gmail to test this feature and asked it to create a nice email asking for a leave of absence. It worked perfectly.

The generated text is simply copyable and displays in a floating window. This function can also be used to create picture captions for social networking posts.

Although it performed admirably on Facebook and Instagram, it was less dependable on Reddit since the AI toolbox occasionally did not provide the AI Writer option for the app. To facilitate audio transcription and text summarization of voice recordings, OPPO has also included AI in its native voice recorder app.

OPPO offers tools including AI Eraser, AI Best Face, and AI Clear Face for photo editing. The AI Eraser efficiently eliminates undesired elements from images and then uses generative fill to fill in the vacant space. In group photos, the AI Clear Face feature eliminates hazy faces; nevertheless, under some lighting circumstances, it may also diminish facial details.

But during testing, AI Best Face which uses AI to detect human faces and expressions and enhance images performed worse than the other two and occasionally produced error messages. Battery: The 5,000 mAh battery included in the Reno 12 Pro is the modern industry standard. With typical use, the smartphone may easily last the entire day on a single charge.
